As of Sept. 2024, the Diocesan Archives are temporarily closed for research and requests due to a moisture and space issue. Hopefully we will have these issues resolved soon but if you have made a request involving any information kept in the vault, we are unable to fulfill it at this time.
Because of their fragile nature the archives are open only to qualified researchers approved by the diocesan archivist and the chancellor on behalf of the bishop.
Sacramental Records – If you are seeking a baptismal certificate for yourself, please contact the parish in which you were baptized as they will have quick access to this. If you are unsure then call the diocesan archives (601-960-8475) to assist you in determining the church in which you were baptized.
Sacramental records certificates are issued from the actual physical record not a microfilm or digital copy. Therefore, the diocesan archives will refer you to the parish where the register is located.
Sacramental Records less than 100 years old are released ONLY to the person of record or the parent or guardian in the case of a minor. Proof of identification is required.
