Statement on the Health of Pope Francis

Our prayers are with Pope Francis. He is our shepherd, and we hold him up through fervent petitions to the Lord.

As people of faith, we know Pope Francis is in God's hands and that his medical team is giving him quality care to combat the complexity of his current illness. We know his age and his lung capacity are a challenge but from all recent reports he is in good spirits and remains aware and alert and patient in enduring the treatment he is undergoing.

We ask all people of faith and good will to pray for Pope Francis who is a profound voice of faith, hope, love, and justice in our troubled world. May God give him the healing and peace that only God can deliver.
