Catholic Social Teaching

The Catholic Church has long been an advocate for the poor, the neglected, the marginalized. At the heart of the church’s work for those left behind is Catholic Social Teaching. CST is based on seven foundational principals:

• Life and Dignity of the Human Person
• Call to Family, Community, and Participation
• Rights and Responsibilities
• Option for the Poor and Vulnerable
• The Dignity of Work and the Rights of Workers
• Solidarity
• Care for God’s Creation
