Faith Formation is bringing people into a closer relationship with God through educational and experiential opportunities for encounter. This can take the form of classes, retreats, preparation for sacraments or just the opportunity to interact with other Catholics.
In the Diocese of Jackson, faith formation includes the various ministries coordinated through the collaborative work of several offices. The Office of Catholic Education includes the ministry of Catholic schools and early learning centers. The Office of Faith Formation provides training for parish and school catechists and organizes opportunities for specific faith communities. The Office of Black Catholic Ministry recognizes and celebrates the gifts of African American Catholics, as well as, offers opportunities for continued faith development. The Office of Campus Ministry serves young people making the transition to adulthood while they are at college. The Office of Family Ministry provides a variety of services that support and minister to engaged couples and families, whether these families are traditional, single parent, blended, or extended. The Office of Hispanic Ministry serves the growing Hispanic community through leadership training, family programs, and retreat experiences.
