Bishop Joseph Kopacz in quarantine following positive COVID-19 test
JACKSON – Bishop Joseph R. Kopacz of the Diocese of Jackson, tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, after noticing mild flu-like symptoms.
Fortunately, Bishop Kopacz is fully vaccinated, and a full recovery is anticipated.
Bishop Kopacz has begun the quarantine process and reports his symptoms are mild. He will continue serving Catholics in the Diocese of Jackson, remotely, while in quarantine.
Bishop Kopacz would like to remind the public to take all steps necessary to protect themselves and their families from COVID-19 and strongly encourages all who are eligible to get vaccinated.
