Bishop Kopacz releases announcement regarding Catholic Charities, Inc. of Jackson

Catholic Charities is an important ministry of the Diocese of Jackson serving numerous people on the margins of our communities through its various programs. After five years as Executive Director, Mrs. Wanda Thomas has decided it is time for new leadership and has submitted her resignation. We are grateful for her years of service and ask God's blessing for her and her family.

The search for a new Executive Director will commence soon. Meanwhile, at the recommendation of the Board of Directors, I have appointed Msgr. Elvin Sunds as Interim Executive Director. As most may know, Msgr. Sunds led Catholic Charites for many years, including one year as Interim Director and 15 years as Executive Director. We are confident Catholic Charities will be in good hands during this interim. Please keep Catholic Charities and the Diocese of Jackson in your prayers.
